Preserving for the future

Preserving the irreplaceable for future generations to enjoy is important to all of us. As an economic development tool, successful preservation planning should also help your community develop a unique identity and an appreciation for its past.

We work with you to create a practical plan, recognizing that, although resources may be limited, it is vital to encourage a preservation ethos throughout your community. Our planning work, always in accordance with the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for Planning, seeks to integrate preservation planning into community-wide planning efforts to have the greatest impact.

We have worked with hundreds of communities across the country to identify and preserve the features that make their community unique. Over time, our planning work has brought communities together to rally around their shared past and preserve cultural landscapes as well as structures.
